Search@UW May 2021 Upgrade: Links to Searches in Search@UW

A new version of Murphy Library's Search@UW will launch on Thursday, May 20, 2021. You can try the new Search@UW now.

Some people choose to save a search conducted in Search@UW by copying or bookmarking the URL from the browser's address bar after conducting the search. This usually works well, but such URLs saved before May 20, 2021 may not work after May 20, 2021.

If you have any URLs to search results in Search@UW saved in Canvas courses or elsewhere that you plan on using after the Spring 2021 semester, you will have to re-run the search after May 20 to generate a replacement URL.

1. Here is an example of an old Search@UW URL for the search pigs and blankets. You can tell that it is from the old version based on the highlighted text:
   

2. On or after May 20, 2021, conduct the same search to find a new search URL in your browser's address bar.




3. The new URL should start with the following highlighted text. The rest of the URL will probably also be different than the old URL.

   New URL:

4. Replace your old bookmarked or saved URL for this search in Search@UW with your new URL.

Search@UW includes the Murphy Library Catalog, with listings for all of the library's online/streaming offerings and hardcopy/DVD/microform holdings.

There are also listings for:

• Everything held at other UW libraries and available to request through UW System Resource Sharing
• Special Collections and ARC Archival Materials Statewide
• Digital Collections at UW System Libraries
• Many articles found in journals, magazines, newsletters and newspapers
