Saved Searches in Search@UW

A new version of Murphy Library's Search@UW will launch on Thursday, May 20, 2021. You can try the new Search@UW now.

About Saved Searches

If you are signed in to Search@UW you can use the "Save Query" button to add a search to your account's Saved Searches. 

With your account's Saved Searches you can revisit the results of a search you conducted previously, you can set an RSS feed for new items added to Search@UW meeting your search criteria, or you can configure email notifications for new items added to Search@UW meeting your search criteria.

After May 20

Any Saved Searches in your Search@UW account before May 20 will no longer be there after May 20. If you want to continue to use them after May 20 you will have to plan ahead to recreate them. 

To view your existing Saved Searches and recreate them in the new Search@UW:

  1. Sign in to your Search@UW account. You can do this by selecting Accounts on the library home page, or by selecting Sign in when you're using Search@UW.

     

  2. Select the pushpin next to your name to go to your favorites.

     

  3. Then, select Saved Searches.

     

  4. If you want to keep any of your searches, review their search terms, scope, and active filters, and document them in a way that works well for you (e.g., copying and pasting the text into an email, printing the page, or saving a screenshot).
     

  5. For any searches that you want to keep, recreate them in the upgraded Search@UW, either in the preview version linked above or after it goes live on May 20. Sign in to your account, repeat the search and apply filters, then select Save query.

     

About Search@UW

Search@UW includes the Murphy Library Catalog, with listings for all of the library's online/streaming offerings and hardcopy/DVD/microform holdings.

There are also listings for:

  • Everything held at other UW libraries and available to request through UW System Resource Sharing
  • Special Collections and ARC Archival Materials Statewide
  • Digital Collections at UW System Libraries
  • Many articles found in journals, magazines, newsletters and newspapers
