Introduction to Murphy Library: Printers & Copiers

This is a general guide to the resources, services, and spaces available to you at Murphy Library. This is the perfect introduction for first-year students, transfer students, or that junior or senior that hasn't been to the library in a while.

How Printing Works

When you print from most of the computers in the library, your print job gets held in a queue. It can then be released from any Print Release Station on campus. There is a Print Release Station by every printer in the library.

You will be charged $.05 a page (black & white) or $0.60 a page (color). You start each semester with $1.20 in your printing account. You should go to the Eagle Help Desk for help with printing issues.

Print Release Stations

Print Release Stations have been placed in every lab. You will need to release your print job(s) from the release station using your NetID username and password. The Release Stations have been put in place to help reduce printing cost/waste in the ITS Classrooms and Labs.

Color Printing

To print in color, you must send the print job to the Color Printer, then go to the color printer and release it from there.

The color printer also allows scanning to flash drive, email, or to paper (photocopy).

Copy Machines

Scan to your jump drive (flash drive) or email from the copy machine for free.

Visit the Library Office for help making paper copies.

Microform Readers

Microform readers are located in the basement of the library and can be used to enlarge microfom/fiche material for reading or printing.

Printing from the microform reader/printers costs 15 cents per page. Scans to a flash drive (jump drive) are free.
