We have the following WI Censuses on microfilm in the basement of the main part of Murphy Library. Not all counties are documented. Please call for more information (608) 785-8511.
WI Territorial: 1836-1838-1842-1846-1847
WI State: 1855-1860-1870-1875-1885-1895-1905 (also has index). 1905 was the last WI State census. It is the most complete and detailed.
We also have U.S. Federal Censuses for WI on microfilm: 1840-1850-1860-1870-1880-1890-1900
La Crosse County was part of Crawford County prior to 1851. The 1890 Federal Census burned.
