PH 200 - Public Health for the Educated Citizen: Background

All are welcome to use this guide to learn about individual and population health.

Background Information

Learning about public health involves many possible areas of interest, and this page of the guide is a good place to start your search for information about your particular area of interest.  Encyclopedias provide introductory information and present a good place to begin learning about new topics.  The dictionaries in the third column will also help you build your vocabulary about a particular public health topic.

It is difficult to use search engines without knowing the right vocabulary. The introductory concepts and vocabulary found in specialized encyclopedias and dictionaries  can be very helpful when you begin to use the Search Tools found in another tab of this Library Guide about public health.
