McNair Scholars are allowed to request graduate study carrels, located in the lower level of Murphy Library. The library assigns carrels on a semester-by-semester basis. Priority is given to graduate students and McNair Scholars during the first weeks of the semester. After that, all UWL students may apply equally for remaining carrels.

McNair Scholars are allowed to check out library materials for the same amount of time as graduate students.
You must identify yourself as a McNair Scholar whenever checking out materials to qualify for the extended borrowing period.
In addition, if you renew your books through the catalog, you will be given a 30 day renewal period. You must contact circulation directly, either in person or by calling 785-8507, to guarantee the full 60 days.

The Council for Opportunity in Education, in conjunction with the Council of Graduate Schools has compiled a list of graduate schools that waive the application fee for McNair Scholars.
