LibKey Nomad: Home

What is LibKey Nomad?

LibKey Nomad is a browser extension from Third Iron that facilitates access to full text articles when you are researching on the web. While searching, you can quickly see which articles are available to you through Murphy Library. LibKey Nomad works on publisher websites, PubMed, and even Wikipedia to connect you to scholarly resources. It is currently available for the following browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Brave, and Vivaldi.

LibKey Nomad does not require users to create an account. For more about LibKey's privacy policy, visit the Third Iron privacy policy page.

Setting up LibKey Nomad

  1. Go to the Download LibKey Nomad website.
  2. Click on the icon for your browser of choice and follow the prompts to add the extension.
  3. Choose University of Wisconsin - La Crosse as your organization.

Using LibKey Nomad

Once you have downloaded the extension, a LibKey Nomad button will appear on websites with article information, like PubMed and publisher websites, if the full text of an article is available through Murphy Library.

Depending on the source of the full text access, you will either see a Download PDF button, which allows you to access a PDF of the article with one click, or an Article Link button, which will direct you to the article page where you can download the full text.
